The Team

Peter

There aren’t many roads in or around the Aveyron that Peter Quaife hasn’t ridden. He’s cycled in more than 60 countries – including the Karakoram highway from Pakistan to China, and across to Kyrgyzstan – but he reckons this little corner of France is pretty hard to beat.

Peter started riding as a teenager, firstly simply to get from A to B and then later as part of a cycling club. By 15 he was racing – mainly on the track – with more enthusiasm than talent. The racing gradually tailed off, but the cycling didn’t.

He’s now in his element planning St Antonin Noble Velo’s routes, arranging bike hire, and riding with guests to ensure they make the most out of their time with us. His years of cycling have given him a real flair for finding the best routes (and the best lunch stops!), while his knowledge of the area is second-to-none.

He’s also a very sociable rider – the emphasis is always on enjoying great routes in great company rather than riding huge distances at speed. He says that if he wanted to go fast, he’d start racing again …

PS You can find a handful of Peter Quaife’s later trips written up here.

Natalie

Natalie is our in-house chef. She’s responsible for our wonderful cyclists’ breakfasts and also our evening meals.

She comes well qualified as she also runs a local business supplying restaurants and cafés. (When cash was tight during the restoration of our cycling accommodation, she ran a market stall selling cakes that quickly became the stuff of local legend).

Natalie bases her cooking for cyclists on the latest thinking in sports nutrition – her breakfasts are not only mouthwatering, but they’ll give you the energy you need for a long day in the saddle. (Oh, and she also makes scrumptious energy bars and post-ride recovery snacks to keep you going during – and after – your ride).
